Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers about the game, our privacy stance, ads, and what's on the roadmap.

Is KiddieWordle really free?

Yes. The core game is free with no paywall, no upgrade prompts, no "unlock more words" tier. When we run third-party ads (Google AdSense), they're clearly labeled as ads and they don't gate any gameplay.

What ages is it for?

Roughly 3 to 12, though the difficulty range covers older players too. We use a length-based difficulty system — 3-letter mode is for the youngest, 9-letter is genuinely hard for adults. Pick whichever feels right for your child today.

Do you collect data on my child?

No. We don't ask for accounts, names, ages, emails, or anything else. Game progress is stored in your browser's local storage only — we never see it. The only data we receive is standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) used to keep the site running, which we don't connect to identities or share.

What about Google AdSense?

When we run ads, they're served by Google AdSense and follow Google's privacy policies, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy. Our privacy page documents exactly what AdSense does and doesn't see.

Is this safe for kids under 13?

Yes — that's the population we built it for. We don't collect personal information from anyone, child or adult, which keeps us compliant with COPPA. We don't show personalized ads (when ads run, they're contextual, based on page content not user identity).

Why do I see ads sometimes?

Hosting and dictionary licensing have small ongoing costs. Ads cover those costs and keep the game free. We're conservative about ad placement — no interstitials, no autoplay video, no ad walls between rounds.

Can I play offline?

Partially — we ship a service worker so the game keeps working if your connection drops mid-session. First load needs the network. We're working on a fully offline mode for travel and spotty Wi-Fi situations.

What devices does it work on?

Any modern browser on any device: phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, Chromebooks. We test on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. No app install needed.

What languages are supported?

English today. Hindi, Spanish, and Marathi are in active development. If you'd like to see a specific language added, email us — volume of requests is how we prioritize.

Can my child get stuck?

Yes — that's part of word games. Every round ends after six guesses or a correct answer, whichever comes first. If they lose, we reveal the word so they learn it. There's no "stuck forever" state.

Is there a teacher mode for classrooms?

Not yet, but it's on the 2026 roadmap. Until then, the game works fine for whole-class projection, center work, or sub-friendly literacy time.

How do I report a bug or suggest a word?

Email us at the contact page. We read every message. Bug reports usually get fixed in days; word-list suggestions get reviewed in the next monthly update.

Why isn't there an app in the App Store / Play Store?

Two reasons: (1) the browser version works on every device for free, so an app would be redundant; (2) the app-store review process and Apple/Google's tracking requirements would force us to either pay for accounts (which we won't) or add tracking (which we won't). The browser version is the product.

Who's behind this?

It's a family project by Riket Patel and family, under Legacy Bridge Alliance Group. Read more on the About page.
